Best European teams of 2013/2014 season





And the winner is... Real Madrid!
Los Blancos had a great season, winning the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, and reaching second place of the Primera División, scoring a total of 2452,92 points (check here for the explanation of the scoring system).

At the second place we find Bayern München, with 2230,80 points. The German team won 4 trophies: Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, but in the Champions League lost heavily in the semi-finals against Real Madrid (aggregate 0-5).

At the third place there is another team of the Spanish capital, Atlético Madrid. Los Colchoneros won the Primera División, lost the Spanish Supercup (against Barcelona) and the final of Champions League (against Real). 

As shown in this infographic, in the first 25 places of the ranking there are 7 Spanish teams (all those that participated in the European Cups), 6 English, 4 German, 4 Italian, 2 French and 2 Portuguese.

Spain dominated the season: 2 teams in the Champions League final with another one eliminated in the quarter-finals (Barcelona); in the Europa League, Sevilla won the Cup and Valencia reached the semifinals.

La squadra spagnola ha avuto una grande stagione, con la vittoria della Champions League e della Copa del Rey, e arrivando secondi nella Liga, raggiungendo un punteggio totale di 2452,92 punti (qui trovate la spiegazione del sistema dei punteggi).

Al secondo posto c'è il Bayern Monaco, con 2230,80 punti. I bavaresi hanno vinto ben 4 trofei: la Bundesliga, la Coppa di Germania, la Supercoppa Europea e il Campionato del Mondo per Club, ma nella semifinale di Champions League hanno perso pesantemente proprio contro il Real Madrid (totale di 0-5 tra andata e ritorno).

Al terzo posto si piazza un'altra squadra di Madrid, l'Atletico, che a vinto la Liga e ha perso la Supercoppa di Spagna (contro il Barcellona) e la finale di Champions League (contro il Real).

Come mostrato in questa infografica, nei primi 25 posti della classifica ci sono 7 squadre spagnole (tutte quelle che hanno partecipato alle coppe europee quest'anno), 6 inglesi, 4 tedesche, 4 italiane, 2 francesi e 2 portoghesi.

La stagione è stata dominata dalla Spagna: 2 squadre nella finale di Champions League, con un'altra eliminata ai quarti (il Barcellona); in Europa League, il Siviglia ha vinto la coppa e il Valencia è arrivato in semifinale.
