European Cups: Legia Warsaw is the best team after the third matchday of the Group Stage

According to the ECRS, after the third matchday of the Group Stage Legia Warsaw* (Poland) are back at the top of the table, with 246,58 points.
The second team is Villareal (Spain). They made their way through the Europa League play-off, defeating Astana (Kazakhstan) with a 7-0 aggregate; they are now at the top of Group A, with 7 points. The team's total score is 225,50.
The third team in the ranking is Dinamo Minsk (Belarus), with 213,09 points.

The previous leaders (Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia) are now 5th after the 2-4 result against Red Bull Salzburg (Austria).

The best team in the Champions League is Porto (Portugal), which is 14th overall with a score of 180,63.

The worst team still in the competition is Galatasaray (Turkey), who after having lost 0-4 against Borussia Dortmund fell to the 226th position, with 19,60 points.

All the big teams are still far from the top positions: they entered the competitions only in the Group Stage.

* Please note: Legia Warsaw was punished by UEFA for fielding an ineligible player in their 2-0 second leg's win over Celtic in the third qualifying round. I decided to consider it as a 0-3 lost, as stated by the official UEFA sentence.

Secondo l'ECRS,  dopo la terza giornata della fase a gironi il Legia Varsavia* (Polonia) è tornato in testa alla classifica, con 246,58 punti.
La seconda squadra è il Villareal (Spagna), che ha sconfitto nei play-off di Europa League i kazaki dell'Astana con un punteggio complessivo di 7-0, e ora è in testa al Gruppo A con 7 punti. Il punteggio totale degli spagnoli è 225,50.
In terza posizione c'è la Dinamo Minsk (Bielorussia), con 213,09 punti.

La squadra precedentemente in testa alla classifica (Dinamo Zagabria, Croazia) è ora in quinta posizione, dopo aver perso 2-4 contro il Red Bull Salzburg (Austria).

* Il Legia Varsavia è stato punito dalla UEFA per aver schierato un giocatore in modo irregolare durante la partita vinta per 2-0 contro il Celtic nel ritorno del terzo turno di Champions League. Ho quindi deciso di considerare quella partita come una sconfitta per 0-3, come stabilito dalla sentenza UEFA.

Almost a new record of goals in Champions League

In the latest round of Champions League Group Stage, played on Tuesday and yesterday, 59 goals were scored (in 16 matches, with an average of 3,69 goals per game).

This is the second highest number of goals scored in a CL Group Stage round; the current record resists since 2000-2001 season, when 63 total goals (3,93 goals per game) were scored in the first matchday of the first Group Stage.

Furthermore, two teams (Bayern Munich and Shakhtar Donetsk) scored 7 goals, and this is only the second time in the history of this Cup (including the old European Cup) that at least 7 goals were scored by two teams in the same matchday of such an advanced round.

The other circumstance was the second leg of the round of 16 in the 2011-2012 season, when Barcelona beat Bayer Leverkusen 7-0, and Bayern Munich beat Basel 7-0.

11 other times, two or more teams scored at least 7 goals in the same matchday, but it always happened in one of the first rounds of the competition.

Nell'ultimo turno di Champions League, giocato martedì e ieri, sono stati segnate 59 reti (in 16 partite, con una media di 3,69 gol a partita).

Si tratta del secondo più alto numero di gol segnati in un turno dei gironi di questa coppa.

Il record risale alla stagione 2000-2001, quando ne furono segnati 63 (media di 3,93 a partita) nella prima giornata della prima fase a gironi.

Inoltre, due squadre (Bayern Monaco e Shakhtar Donetsk) hanno segnato 7 reti, e questa è solo la seconda volta che questo numero di reti viene segnato da due squadre in un turno così avanzato della competizione.

L'altra occasione è stata la partita di ritorno degli ottavi di finale del 2011-2012, quando il Barcellona sconfisse il Bayer Leverkusen 7-0, e il Bayern Monaco sconfisse il Basilea per 7-0.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid to set new records

With the two goals scored yesterday against Levante, Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record, scoring 15 goals in the first 8 matches in La Liga. The previous record was set in the 1943-1944 season, 71 years ago.
The whole Real Madrid team scored 30 goals, and at this pace they would score 142 goals at the end of the season. The current record (for the Spanish Championship) is of 121 goals, by Mourinho's Real Madrid in the 2011-2012 season.

Con le due reti segnate ieri contro il Levante, Cristiano Ronaldo ha stabilito un nuovo record, avendo segnato 15 goal nelle prime 8 partite di campionato. Il record precedente durava da 71 anni, dalla stagione 1943-44.
Complessivamente il Real Madrid ha segnato 30 reti, e continuando con questo ritmo arriveranno a 142 goal a fine stagione. Il record attuale (121 goal) è detenuto dal Real Madrid di Mourinho, e fu stabilito nel 2011-2012.
